Mary and Jacob (Jake) Pleeter live in Belle Mead with their children Abigail, Lauren and Zachary. The Pleeter’s are active members of Temple Beth El, Hillsborough, and special friends of Southern Somerset County Chabad.

They particularly enjoy participating in Chabad's religious and educational programs. In fact, Mary introduced her family several years ago, to our local Chabad through a series of education courses offered through The Rohr Jewish Learning Institute taught locally by Rabbi Shmaya Krinsky.

Mary and Jake are both CPAs, starting their careers in New York City at Arthur Andersen and Touche Ross (now Deloitte and Touche), respectively.

Mary is a graduate of SUNY Binghamton's School of Management and Jake from Yeshiva University.

Currently, Jake serves as Executive Vice President of Regatta USA, a womens'

apparel company based in Manhattan and Mary is a partner at MALZ LLC, a private investment firm. In addition, Mary is a Trustee and an executive board member of the Loveladies Harbor Association and is a founding executive member of Montgomery Township School's Special Education Parent Teachers Association.

The Pleeter's enjoy boating and tennis. Jake has aspirations of becoming a licensed Captain and Mary is an avid tennis player. In fact, Mary is a ranked USTA player and is the Long Beach Island Arts Foundation's three-time womens doubles champion.

The Pleeters have made Tikun Olam , volunteering and communal leadership a family focus. They have been engaged with Temple Beth El's Social Action Committee programs; Shalva, an organization based in Jerusalem , Israel dedicated to caring for children of special needs and their families; NJ Special Olympics; JESPY House in South Orange, NJ, specializing in providing programs and housing to the special needs citizens; Montgomery Township's Boy and Girl Scouts and recreation programs; Long Beach Island Foundation for the Arts and Sciences; Animal Alliance, an organization advocating for the proper treatment of animals.

Jake and Mary are equally proud that their children have also assumed positions of leadership in Hillel, Special Educators and HOBY, in their respective school communities.

In recognition of their being honored this evening Mary and Jake would like to recognize the invaluable example set by their Parents and Grandparents in the tradition of "Tzarchei Tzibor" (needs of the community).
